CU-0405 DRESSER HYDRA-CUSHION HC20-14

Upgrade any cushioned underframe car with a cushioning unit from Dresser. This DRESSER HYDRA-CUSHION HC20-14 was installed with a return spring. This cushioning device is easily identified due to its hydraulic cylinder hanging vertically down from the underframe. Dresser developed the cushioning unit along with Southern Pacific consequently nearly all cushioned freight cars in the SP fleet used them. However, nearly every railroad freight car fleet from east to west had at least one series of cars with this popular cushioning unit.
